Dean could come your way, but it is too early to consider that the most likely possibility. The probability is high that at least one storm will come near New Orleans this season.
You can rely on the Forecast Discussions available at the National Weather Service tropical prediction center. They have nothing at stake and will tell you the truth about what they know and when they were right and wrong.
The hurricane pages on Unisys Weather are very good, as well, and so is weather underground.

Right now the margin of error is too wide to be very reliable. I don't think it is going for New Orleans. The way they were talking about it, it sounded like it was going to turn for the north. I guess just wait and see!

It's way too early to tell whether Dean will even make it into the Gulf of Mexico. But, you might want to keep an eye on that tropical depression currently in the Gulf.

The models are inaccurate in a way but you should see and track this storm as much as possible because a couple of models show them heading your way.

Meteorologists are forecasting these models due to changeable circumstances for instance wind. If the wind suddenly shifted it could put the storm somewhere in Bermuda
