She should lose her right to sue over this.

It is about the money, or she would not be asking for 5 million dollars.

Lazy people disgust me! If you want to be rich, work for it, if youre not willing to work that hard then be happy with what youre willing to work for.

The company has been doing a great job with this. As soon as they knew, we knew. Their website is great for helping you find out if your kids toys are affected. Yes, they made a poor decision, but as long as they cover the medical costs (which Im sure theyll do just to avoid the bad press) then there is no case.

Of course that only applies when there are med costs. People without any problems need to just go away.

Yes I thinks it's fair and I can't believe more parents aren't jumping aboard. I have two small kids and it's so frustrating looking around wondering which toys are safe and they keep adding more to the list. I have a couple of these products and it's very scary because you don't know what damage has been done, even if it's subtle in their development. It's just very upsetting that every time your child plays with their toys you have to worry if they are being poisoned. I'm about to throw everthing away and start new, but I want to be compensated for the money I spent. I think more parents should be getting lawyers. This isn't something simple like a toy breaking. This is serious and where does it stop. They just announced today that they are finding lead in plastic bibs sold at Toys r us. What's next sippy cups. Maybe this is why autism is on the rise. Who knows? and that's what's scary. Someone needs to be accountable. They say toys are cheaper made in China, but I'd rather pay a few extra bucks to have American made toys that would definitely have quality control. So sue sue sue!!!!!!

I don't have to check the video. That is a nonsense lawsuit that will tie things up for those that do have a real lawsuit. She is just being greedy. If it's not about the money, and she wins, I'm sure she will donate the money to charity and not keep anything for herself. And that amount of money is ridiculous. I'm sure her kid has put worse things in her mouth from things lying around the house. Any Judge that is competent should throw it out and charge her and her lawyer with wasting the courts' time.

Not frivolous, because they decided to forgo examining the samples of each toy shipment to ensure they were safe before distributing them to the consumers. It's the responsibility of the toy seller to make certain when they sub-contract to have them manufactured overseas they are indeed safe before placing them on the selves in the toy store. Mattel is going to eat it big time on this one. Unfortunately the attorneys will take the major share of it before the kid is all enough to know what happened! She should have demanded much more!

YES. Class action only, not personal.

1. You need to be tested to confirm lead poisoning. Who should pay for that? Lead poisoning occurs from repeated exposure to small amounts of lead. In this case, there may not be any obvious symptoms, they MUST be tested.

2. Adults don't put toys in their mouths, toddlers do (DUH! for the people who don't have kids)

3. The magnet issue was "known" in March? Why wait till August? To see if it goes away? WTF? (NEGLIGENCE MAYBE, on whose part yet to be determined).

So is it fair to sue Mattel? YES. The money should be put in a trust fund and people who get the kids tested can draw/charge the account.

I think that overall we are too litiginous as a society, but I heard John fund of the Wall Street Journal speak and he said the only way to combat the China Crisis is to sue the manufactures and or importers who put these unsafe products on the shelves. They will have to manufacture their items in other countries and or ...heaven forbid....in the
US!

I think it`s a frivolous lawsuit... Why waste your money to sue if your child is o.k??!! Mattel has been pretty honest about the whole thing, they could have waited a few years, AND THEN SAID SOMETHING!!

If her daughter isn't poisoned she should thank GOD! If the child is poisned she should sue because of medical expenses.... & It's a lie it's not about the money because if it weren't for money the word "sue" wouldn't have been invented....

If the courts award her any money then I think that it would be a more than moronic decision. Then again it seems like we live in a moronic world anyway.

Stupid law suits are filed everyday. It's when a jury comes up with a stupid verdict we have a problem.
