since he charges anywhere from 1 -3 % i would say no unless you also buy the cashier at the bank, clearks at store etc giftst!!!

Your financial planner makes plenty of money from you. He deserves to be paid. He deserves a "thank you"..... but that's it.

Best way to know if he's done the "right" job for you;
Compare your percentage results against low cost / no-load index funds that mimic your "asset allocation".
