Is it better than an office job? Is there better pay? What about stress?

It is not a job for everyone. The hours are long... the stress level is high... the traffic can be a total pain... the paperwork is endless... it is a thankless job, yet an extremely important one.
You can't compare it to a office job. Some days it is better than one, some days it is worse.
You used to be able to make good money as a trucker, now it is still a possibility, but we're working harder to make that same money.
You do get to see the country... but it is not the tourist areas.
You don't have management looking over your shoulder... but you are answering to a lot of people.
Hopefully in time you will find the trucking job that 'fits' your lifestyle. Until then, learn to relax... exercise... eat healthy...

No way is it better than an office job. Plus there is a lot more stress. You have no life. You're never home. You do not get paid for all the hours or miles you drive.There are a lot of government regulations you have to deal with. There is a lot of paper work. Poor sleeping conditions.Showers,bathrooms and meals are all a pain.I can go on.To put it simpler,it really sucks and the only reason I do it,is because where I live it is one of the only jobs that pays a livable wage.

My ex was a trcuck driver its a long hard road ahead you get tired alot eating out all the time sucks after while you miss your family not to mention traffic and the law I'd think alot about it before doing it most trucks dont have bathrooms either

You have to love to drive. but the benefits of seeing this beautiful country. if you do it, do not take loads to the north east. its a bear up there. and stress, if your on time there isn't any but as with any job, stress is a requirment LOL

there lots of different trucking jobs.. long line , local ,construction , mining, farming ...etc...
they are all better than being in a office job
