I have a golden mystery apple snail that left behing a big white blob with black dots in it?

They do lay eggs, generally above the water line. The egg mass is usually tinted with some color (orange, pink, green) however, and the color depends on the species. You can see photos of egg masses in this link: http://www.applesnail.net/, and the colors are given in the "species" section.

There are separate males and females in apple/mystery snails, so it takes two to have young. If you only have one snail, it may have stored sperm from mating with a male before you bought it - they can lay fertile eggs for several months after they mate, but after about 6 months, the eggs won't be fertile anymore.

Mystery snail and apple snail are common names and mean different things in different areas. In our area they are completely different snails. Mystery snails lay egg sacks that float and if you don't want the snails you can remove these. Apple snails lay eggs outside of the aquarium and usually don't breed in aquariums. It sounds like you have what we call mystery snails. Every snail except the really large apple snail varieties seem to breed like crazy whether you have one or more. Extra snails is never a problem.

hi, betetr to purchase indian dwarf puffer fish or clow loaches, they'll shop the snails in examine. in case you donot choose those to enhance in basic terms scrape the egg cluster with a plastic card and attempt to moist wipe the flora you have so as that no eggs or snails remian in them, particularly the leaf blades and root systems. regards
