I have actually done this. Ok we moved from Pittsburgh, PA to Charlotte, NC and everytime we go home we make it a point to stop at several places. They are Deluca's for breakfast in the Strip. Peppi's Steak in the North Side before the Steelers Games. EatnPark and Kings, well if you know Pittsburgh, you understand. And oh yeah Gus and Yaya's also in the North Side for an iceball. Also can't forget to get a good dog and fries in Oakland at the Dirty O. These are the places I grew up with, that my hubby and I went to either late at night or early in the AM after bar hopping or for a great family meal. The food was good, cheap and well my type of comfort foods........

Wow....so many choices, so little time.
If I had to move away from my current location (moved so may times when I was younger, consider California my home since I have lived here the longest).....
Orange Hill. Would need to arrive 30 mins. before dinner, just as the sun sets to enjoy a martini as you watch the sun go down on Orange County. Beautiful, breathtaking view from about 1000 feet up. Dinner - start out with the crab stuffed mushrooms. Have the Lobster Bisque. Rack of Lamb in a Cabernet Peppercorn Reduction, with a bottle of Justin Meritage 04. Finish it off with a Key Lime Cheesecake, and a 20 year old Tawny.

Lorenzo's in Secaucus, NJ. The best appetizer they have is the hot antipasto, it is to die for. The dinner is a toss up between a classic pizza margarita or the shrimp fra diavalo with a crisp caesar salad. The caesar dressing is the best I ever had. YummmmmmO! I think I'll be making a visit to my hometown very soon.

Red Pepper in Grand Forks, ND. I pretty much order anything on the menu--it's all good!
I went to college in Grand Forks, but now live in NYC. Every time I go back, I make a stop at 'The Pepper' as soon as I get there!
