Speed comes with practice. It's better to be slow and do it right than to start trying to get faster and yet you technique sucks.

Don't worry about it. Relax - it will come. Its more important to be ACCURATE at this point than to be fast, but if you really want to increase your speed, get a metronome and put it on the slowest setting. Practice changing chords at the SLOWEST SPEED... if you can do that, increase the speed on the metronome by "one click" and continue doing that until you can't keep up. Then back down on the speed. Use an electronic metronome when you get to the faster speeds - the mechanical ones aren't accurate enough at high speeds. And don't forget to relax while you are doing it - it might sound strange, but this will increase your speed if you are all tensed up. I know - it happened to me.

practice pratice practice practice

you will feel like a gorilla with swollen fingers for a week or 2
and then, HEY you can switch fine!

trust me, practice practice practice, there is no exercise or lesson that will help you - you have to sit down, practice and also look for ways to make the chord swithcing easier - like see if they have similar patterns and then move just the fingers you need

dont go paying for some online lesson that swears that you will learn how to play in 30 days - if you practice, youll learn how to play in 25

so i cant repeat this anymore - PRACTICE - youll go "this guy is an idiot because everyone tells me to practice", but dude just try practicing as much as you can and it will work, believe me

cheers

ps - PRACTICE

---edit---
please dont buy anything, i dont want to sound like a baby but dont listen to anyone, im entirely self taught and i r@pe @ss now on guitar
just practice

Congrats on picking up the guitar! The best thing you could do is go down to your local guitar shop and pick up a few lesson books. They are reasonably cheap and can teach you alot. Pick up a few issues of guitar world while your at it. If it's one thing I've learned as a musician, it's that the quickest way to learn is to totally dissolve yourself into the music. Turn on the radio and jam with the music that comes on, it's fun and you'll be building a foundation that only comes with playing with others. Rock on!!!
