Well, He did not officially retired like Jerome Bettis and John Elway did. But he was forced into retirement because no teams wanted him any more. The last team he was with the Detroit Lions in 2004.

I think there were enough garbage QB's available that people didn't need to hire Mirer anymore. He has to rank pretty high on the list of most worthless QB's of all time.

It would be IS he retired or DID he retire. He may have never officially filed the papers with the NFL but he is retired.
