I had my daughter 8 weeks early. Even though I got colostrum fairly easily I really had to work at getting the milk to come in. It was so abundant at one point that I would often leak. So it can come out on it's own. I pumped for a year. Sometimes it was easier than others. It wasn't consistent over that year. Some of my friends dried up on their own. It took me about 2 weeks of not pumping as often. Then about 2 more weeks once I stopped.

As long as the breast are being stimulated. Thats why if u r not gonna feed they say wear a tight fitting bra and dont let water from shower or anything hit your nip.

until the baby drinks it, if you are asking how long til it dries up, it slowly stops can take anywhere from one to two weeks, sometimes more sometime less, it depends on if you did breastfeed and for how long, and each woman 's body is different
