Plecos are tropical fish and therefore yes, they do need filters, heaters and allt hat other stuff. They are just a specialized fish that eats fromt he bottom and can rasp algae from rocks when food is lean. They should be fed a proper diet like any other fish.

They have all the requirements of a tropical fish. That includes heaters and filters. Also, these fish can get huge 12-24 inches and need a large tank to keep them. At least a 55 gallon tank would be best. (some species do not get this large and stay around the 4 inch mark)

They are docile and can be kept with other fish. They are very easy to care for as they are exceptionally tough. Feeding with algae wafers and left over flakes from the mollies will be just fine.

Yes they do need a filter, pump and heater. Plecos are Community fish so it won't bother your mollies. It eats Alqae but, it can't survive entirely on algae, I would reccomend feeding it Algae Discs or sinking wafers specialized for bottom feeders, they love it. Plecostomuses are great starter fish, however they are primarily nocturnal so they not that exciting to watch. They can grow up to a staggering 24 inches so make sure your tank can fit it as it grows bigger. If you want to see more pictures of Plecos. follow the source below. Hope I helped!

Plecos do need a filter, pump, heater, air circulation etc. They are bottom feeders that will eat algae that grows naturally in your tank.

You can purchase algae wafers at your local pet store to feed them in case there is not a sufficient amount of algae growing in your tank. Depending on the size of your pleco, you can feed 1 - 2 wafers a day.

Good luck!

yes pleccos need a tank with heat, filter, and pump. they do not eat other fish waste but will eat any food that isn't eaten, and algae. you should also be feeding it veggie tablets once a day because they cant live off of the algae your tank produces alone. they will get along fine with the mollies
