The only way I can keep their names straight is to think the "RL" stands for "Replaced Legend". Legend, Vigor, Integra - those were all great names. I hate the alphabet soup style of naming cars that is so popular today.

Me, they use those letter number codes because Mercedes and BMW use them. It seems like Honda is trying to prove that their cars are as good as the German cars. An Acura has no need to act like any other car. They should hire some creative English people to come up with a set of unique names for their cars, that would give them a brand identity.

I miss the old "names" we had. I'm a former owner of the 1st year Integra GS-R and for years I thought the Legend was not only a classic car (and still do), but the name fit and flowed like a river. I now have a TSX and a CL-S and though I love my Acuras, the names are lacking color for me. My $0.02.

i wish they would but there really isnt anything you can do about it, i have an Integra=).. its not like people care about what the name of the car is anymore they just want good features with a low price tag and theyll be fine with it
by the way Integra is still out there its just under Honda Integra now which you wont find in the US unless you import one

Yeah, the alphabet soup style naming is sort of the same type of adoption of numbers instead of names for German luxury vehicles, which I think is the reason they went to letters. Lexus and Infinity does the letters game to, which is probably why Acura followed.

I agree names are much easier to remember.

who really gives a sh*t what the car is called?
do you like how it looks? is it fun to drive? good for your budget? ..i didnt buy my 06 rsx because i loved or hated the name. i bought it because i love the car, nameplate or not. maybe we could focus less on the marketing direction of Acura and more on the production aspect, like why they phased out the sporty coupe in order to compete more with high-end luxury manufacturers. everyone knows acura is just a nice honda, and theres hardly anything luxurious about a honda.

No one, naming a car has to be the stupidest exercise there is, just look at the car names out there now, "Leganza"(whats a "Leganza?) "Armada" (why name a vehicle after an historic disaster?) "Beretta" (is your Beretta "loaded'?) "Murano" (most people who drive them drive like MOrono's) and on and on.

Give me alpha numeric designations every time.
