Yes it is good but unless your getting it don't expect it in the car you buy. I have a civic that claims 40 mpg and the very best I can get is 38.2 mpg. Still not bad at all and worth having at the pump prices today.

In the UK 40 mpg is around the average

40 is way above average. I doubt if you will get it, unless you are doing a lot of highway driving and even then I'm not too sure. If you want the Cooper then get it. Your money, your car, your life, enjoy. good luck.

Think 40mpg + let's assume a 15 gal gas tanke = 600 miles on a tank of gas.

You tell me, is that good with today's gas prices?

very, but most people dont actually get that high. Youll prob see around 35 mpg.

It is great gas mileage.

But if you buy a hybrid you can get even better mileage too!
