before i even have intercourse, i want to have a reliable form on birth control. which non-surgery required form has the best protection? i also plan on using condoms but in case it breaks, which would offer me the highest protection? ie. patch, shot, etc

Wow - lots of people don't want you to have sex for some reason.

I think you are doing it just right. Getting prepared and planning on using 2 forms of birth control at once. Good for you.

I think most forms of birth control whether it's the pill, patch, ring, shot, etc have pretty much the same 99.whatever% effectiveness rating. But don't take my word for it.

Go to planned parenthood's website. They have great info on different types of birth control and how they work. They all have their pros & cons, and depending on your personality one will be better than the others for you. Like for me - I already take allergy medicine every morning, so it's no problem for me to remember to take the pill. For you - maybe it's harder.

For the woman, pill is the best form. For the man, condom is the best. If the condom breaks, the morning after pill is available to the woman.

the best form of protection is to abstain from sex ....period.
go to the doctor and ask them thats your best solution
