I didn't think you worthy of the plaque, Scooter, but sorry to see you go.

Who was (or is) the best Yankees announcer of all time? Radio, teevee, in-stadium? I'd go with Mel Allen, but have your say.

Well, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who felt the need to mention that he's not a deserving HOFer. I guess this isn't the day for that argument, and I really am sorry to see him go.

Mel Allen over Michael Kay? Really? Seriously, I can't see choosing anyone but Allen. He beats the heck not only out of Scooter but Garagiola and definitely the current bunch.

It is sad that the Scooter is now, no longer with us. He was a great announcer. I always enjoyed listening to him. He made the game more entertaining. Our beloved Scooter will always be missed. I remember when he was in the hospital, I would say "Get well Scooter". This is not a good day for Yankee fans. I have changed my screen name to yankees10 in tribute to him. So long Scooter (1917-2007).

I recall one game where Rizzuto and White were announcing. There was a thunderstorm, White didn't like thunderstorms and left. Phil couldn't stop making fun at him. it was hilarious. HOLY COW!! No announcers were better than Rizzuto & White.
