You can exercise and exercise all you want..but you must DIET and exercise in order to lose such weight. My trainer use to yell at me all the time because I never changed my eating habits. As a smaller woman, in really good shape, I never imagined I would have to diet in order to 'see the muscle better' ...but you have to. Your fat is on top of muscle. While working out and doing various excercises WILL help you have to change your diet as well. :(
That said....some really great excerises to target those areas to build muscle are as follows..... Lie on your back and put you hands flat on the ground..but underneath your butt (this will provide support and cushion) lift your legs about 6 inches in the air. Now say 'UP, (lift them in the air) DOWN, (bring them down but DONT touch the ground), APART( spread 'em), TOGETHER.. (bring together)....all the while your feet should never touch the air. :)..then up, down, apart, together, up, down, apart, together..and keep going until you need to rest...
Another one is to do butterfly kicks.. lie in the same position and lift your feet about 6in to a foot in the air...now flutter kick them up down up down up down...when your left is up your right should be down...like scissors chopping...never let your feet touch the ground..
Both of these excercises target those areas you are referring to exceptionally well. Good luck!!

There is no such thing as targeting. By strengthening a muscle that lies undernead a deposit of fat, you cause that muscle to grow and it can give the impression of an even bulkier and more unsightly area. When fat is lost, it is lost evenly throughout the body. Your best bet is to do exercises that stimulate the most muscles at the same time, such as a squat combined with a bicep curl, or traveling lunges with a torso twist. The more muscles you use, the more energy your body needs to expend to do it. In addition, try to get more cardiovascular exercise, such as walking, running, skipping rope, rowing, biking, hiking, jumping jacks, etc. It doesn't matter as long as you are exercising. Get started on that and then work on getting your daily diet in better shape to further enhance your body transformation.

The abs function as a single unit. YOu can not spot reduce fat. Mix up the ab excercises, train the entire body, and consume the correct number of calories to burn fat. YOu will need the proper ratios of protein, barbs, and fat. Drink plent of water. YOu will need to create a calorie deficit.(500 a day = about 1 pound per week)

There are no exercises that target that area, and using exercises that target an area to lose weight in that area does not work. To lose fat of any kind, anywhere, you have to do an allover weight loss. Targeting a muscle just strengthens and tones that particular muscle and will not help with any fat that may be laying on top of the muscle particularly.

Deadlifts, twisting w/ weights, leaning side to side, standing straight and lifting your legs backwards, these all work great. However, you will need to do cardio and decrease calories to lose weight. Good luck and congrats on the baby.

Do the thing where you lean to the side, I do about 15 on each side. But dont do them too heavy because it can make the skin stretch and make your love handles too bulky.
