Astrology is more than the horoscope you read in the paper. Astrology is based on centuries of observation based on the relationship of the earth to the stars in the sky. It's a person's whole chart which gives a clear view of who that person is. You have to look at all the other planets, signs, houses, aspects, etc. When you put it all together, it's astounding how accurate it actually is.
I actually do have an astrologer I talk to every year. When I first met with her, she knew the type of person I was, before even meeting me or talking to me.

I think people need to believe in something…it might as well be the stars, which are the basis of most religions anyway (they just extrapolated).
You should watch that video (Zietgeist, which also have a great film about 9/11) to make the connection between the stars and religions, but watch it fast because the address often changes…

Since 1AD and until the year 2150, we’re in the age of Pisces, represented in religion by Christ (fish…fisherman…). Then, in 2150, it won’t be the end of the world, like some people think, just the end of the age of Pisces (and the end of Christ), when we go into the age of Aquarius, because of the slow angular wobble that the Earth maintained as it rotates on its axes.
Now as of today, it is pretty hard to believe all that stuff because of all the abuse. All those Horoscopes today in magazines are pretty lame.
Let’s say I would tell you that if you find an obstacle blocking your path this week, you should take it as a sign that you should change direction…or that if your relationship hits rock bottom this week, you should not worry because from there it can only get better…or that it is important that you deal with a situation that scares you because you really should be having fun with your friend…or that you should be honest this week, even if it means upsetting people you normally try to keep happy…it’s all bolony, really, or just common sense for everybody anyway (refer to last week TV Guide for more bolony or baloney).
People seems to be influenced by the way the stars were in the sky when they were born? What about all the babies born out of C-section because it was a better scheduling time for the mother or the doctor? So a baby was born on May 21st with a C-section, and therefore be a Taurus, instead of being born naturally two days later in the middle of the night, and then be a Gemini?
I think your destiny is what you make of it, and yes, if your relationship hits rock bottom this week, you should not worry because from there it can only get better…

Let me make one thing clear and that is ASTROLOGY IS NOT A SCIENCE!
To be a science you must have testing and results that are constant and that others can repeat. Astrology is irrational and unproven.
Astrology is what can be called "magical thinking" something that as educated adults should grow out of. The time we live in the present is supposed to be the age of science and reason not of superstition and magic.
Ask the experts if you consider astrology to be a science, what is used for a laboratory? What tests are done to constantly eliminate the false or just the plain lies?
Magical thinking just requires belief. No need for proof when you believe. But as the late Carl Sagan used to say "extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof" This lacks here.
Bottom line is when astrology is tested (even when astrologers help design the tests) it fails to do any better than chance.

Astrology is actually an ancient science that predates both astronomy and psychology. Studied and used throughout the world for thousands of years, Astrology is the study of the interactions among the Stars and the Planets, based on intricate mathematical cycles.
The earliest known astrological records date back to Babylon, 1645 BC, and the earliest horoscope to 410 BC. Astrology's origins can also be traced to several other locations and cultures, including Egypt, which developed sophisticated timekeeping and calendar science; Greece, where Ptolemy authored influential astrological and astronomical texts; and Rome, where many of the most learned men-including two emperors-were astrologers who wrote laws and counseled citizens based on the Stars.

One of the most nonsensical things about Astrology is that it hasn't corrected for the Earth's wobble on it's axis -- which, over two millennia, has resulted in a deviation of the celestial calendar from the astrological calendar. In other words, people of the modern age who are born under one house of the zodiac according to the astrological calendar, are actually born under the adjacent sign if you check the position of the stars. So even if it meant something, they've got everyone sign's wrong.

well,normally they're true. personality has a lot to do with the time you were born and your family. even so, most signs hold true to many people,if you just follow astrology for personalities. the stars and constellations are what give the signs their symbols and the sky (well,space/planets) have to do with your birthday because your date of birth is at a time of a certain alignment of the planets and planets are said to coincide with characteristics,which is like astrology at its core. hope that helps!

it is the only religion and/or belief that has proof.
astrology is also the GOD of all beliefs.
fire = spirit
air = science
earth = mother nature
water = religion
someone once asked me if astology was part of the bible, my answer was:
god is sectioned with all other religions which represents the sign of pisces.
pisces is 1 of 3 waters of the signs
water is 1 of 4 elements of the zodiac
the bible represents 1 of 12 signs of astrology
astrology is not part of the bible; God is a small part of astrology.

If you speak to enough people and find out their sign...the similarities are uncanny.
