I thought it was about all the good in the world and joy & happyness. This stuff is twisted! Why did his daughters do that?

It is not some fairy tale, and yes, I found parts of it to be very disturbing. Do you think it is because it is the truth? and not some made up fairy tale like some proclaim? The people answer your question act as if God agrees with Lot's behavior!!!

One person said filth, don't read it, what about all the filth in magazines, Internet, TV, movies, and more importantly REAL LIFE?

I like you, was disturbed alot in the old testament, but when you get thru that into the new testament, that is where the comfort is, at least for me. The Bible is very hard to understand. It isn't a novel, that is why people read it over and over.

As far as the disturbing history of the acts of the human race, well that part is pure history. We are sinners. The bible is also a piece of history.

nice beard..more like stubble

ok, yeah, Lot slept with his daughters, it was normal back then, as sick as it is...but if you keep reading like a good little boy, you will see that he was punished by God because even though it was accepted in society, it was a sin in God's eyes.

the Bible is God's word. He didnt candy coat what happened. He told it as it was. He told the good and the bad. and all of the bad things that happened in the Bible, God is NOT encouraging them at all. if you read through the whole story, you will see that the wrong-doers are punished every time.

you shouldnt criticize something if you dont know the whole story. read with an open mind, not a negative eye...and you will find great love and insight from the Bible. it is truly a great thing to read. keep it in your heart.

good luck!
xoxo♥

Here's another book for you to read as you read the Bible. It's called The X-Rated Bible: An Irreverent Survey of Sex in the Scriptures . By Ben Edward Akerley. It will open your eyes to all the perversions in the bible.

Lot lost his spouse, abode, pals and relatives. Daughters made a gross pass on their area and something is historic previous. in case you study alongside you will word different disgusting judgements made in historic previous via God's human beings. yet such acts weren't continuously tolerated (i.e. tribe of Benjamin raping and killing a Levites mistress).

He didn't sleep with them willingly, his daughters intoxicated him by giving him alcohol. After the destruction of the city Sodom & Gomorah (sp?), there were hardly any people left. So the daughters decided that they should get pregnant by their father. I know, gross! Everytime I heard that story I would shudder with disgust. It's the only story from the bible that can never understand.

well do you know why? because when they ran from Sodom and the whole town was burned they thought that it was the end of all man and they were the only ones left in the world and they wanted to multiply the earth again. of coarse they did wrong and God punished them nut they did what they thought was right. they even had babies too!

Yes, the Bible is a very shocking, yet insightful, read...from page one!
Everything we see going on today has been done before; several times over!
