Booth, back to the wall, and somebody good in front of me...

Generally speaking, a booth - but I've been to some restaurants where the table is either too tall or too short for the booth seats which is definitely no good.
I prefer back to the wall - people watching is semi-entertaining.

Booths overall. They are just more comfortable! However, if we have a larger party (over 4 people), I don't want to be in one of those oversize booths! In that case, I need a little more elbow room..so a table would be better.
It depends on who I'm with. If I'm with a guy or a bunch of guys, they usually prefer to be able to see the door. So, I don't mind sitting with my back towards the door..because they will protect me ;-)
However, if it's just the girls..I need to see who is coming in and out!:-)

Table for me. Booths are harder to get out of to go to the restroom. Plus I could forget my purse under the table at a booth. And I like to face the door so I can people-watch.

Gotta love a booth! I feel like I have a bit more privacy as compared to a table.

"Whichever one is next on rotation."
Booths are more comfortable but I'll sit wherever I am seated. I was a hostess for eight months and it is the single most annoying and expected thing no matter who comes in. "Can I have a booth?" Oh-my-gosh. People think food tastes better at booths. I swear it. I would only ask whenever we could do either on rotation otherwise it screws up servers and makes everything worse for EVERYONE, especially the b*tchy customer who just couldn't dare sit at a table. Or just as bad, the claustrophobic "Why are you seating me in the corner?" or the agoraphobic, "Do you honestly expect me to sit and eat in the middle of all these people?" Yes, yes I do. You came to a RESTAURANT. Did you think you would be all alone here? Seriously. Sit where the hostess sits you or get the food to-go and sit at the TABLE at your house. Presumably most people don't have booths in their own home. It doesn't matter where you sit, the food tastes the same, everything is the same. GET OVER IT PEOPLE!
(Ahh that felt good.)

I would sit at a booth. I really don't know why; It's just a personal opinion.
