! Aawww, that sounds like a really innocent quitely asked question to me....Not really sure, most liklye the fact they genuinly can't think of anything better. You only need to go on youtube.com to see how many times that bullet is pulled out on people lol Very sad..Personally I don't ask for great spelling or even grammar, just so that I can understand it..However SMS is almost taking the mickey now lol

Well, considering there is a "Check Spelling" button on the top right hand corner of the answer box, no one should make any spelling mistakes.

If you've slept thru spelling lessons at school, it shows in the written word. You do not appear to be intelligent if you can't spell.

The once in a while mistake of a difficult word is acceptable to me. A question with even simple words that are spelled wrong is hard to read. Sometimes, spelling errors change the meaning of words.

I think the reason is that some are just picky. It is easy to fix the spelling... you have a spell check just above where you are typing your question. I always click on it even if I think I have spelled everything right. That is just me though.

Most likely to get people to realize how lazy and disrespectful it looks not to at least try to use proper spelling and grammar. I tend not to unless the mistakes make the question hard or impossible to understand.

Bad grammar and spelling are a real bug bear of mine. I had an absolute witch for English at school and she was totally unforgiving when it came to spelling and the correct use of words like "lend" and "borrow"; "brought" and "bought".

The abused has become the abuser!!!

You are so right Reed they do it to the dyslectic, and the people who have had mini strokes and only have the use of one hand.
The also do it to people who have spent their childhoods in hospitals and to the partially sighted. A very good question.
Have a star.

One of the reasons I suppose is that standards in education have slipped so dramatically they are trying to encourage people to use spell check. I don't know for sure, but it's a thought.
