In college I read a short story called "The Potion." It was about this man who bought a love potion for this girl he was in love with. The seller said it would make whoever he gave it to obsessively in love with him. The potion was only a dollar or two, the antidote was much more expensive.

The phrase "obsessively in love" would make me think twice before I buy it.
I want a lover not a stalker. LOL

This reminds me of a short story I read in philosophy class college freshman year. I forgot the story's name, but it was an argument in favor of God giving us free will and letting us live in a world sin as a result of free choice. The story described a hypnotist that could make a woman fall in love with him, and the argument pointed out that the hypnotist COULD do this but he would rather have someone who actually loved him... I think along the same lines, and I'd be against someone giving a love potion. I'd rather be with someone who really loved me, and I wouldn't settle for someone who I somehow forced to love me.

"Love Potion Number 9" - Sandra Bullock. If I could have made the pre-biker trash Sandra Bullock fall in love with me, yeah, otherwise I would be worried it might wear off.
