In theory, yes, but it's not likely that you'd ever be able to tell a difference. Theres nothing wrong with using distilled water as some private water systems are full of minerals that can lead to blockages in the system. Flushing and refilling with fresh coolant every 2-3 years will avoid this.

The one thing that it will do is to keep foreign material out of the system. If you have hard water you will get calcium deposits and that can reduce the efficiency of the cooling system. As for increasing the life of the system, probably not enough to notice. Also using the water pump lube and changing the the coolant every other year should help you have a trouble free system for many years. good luck

No it wont. but it wont hurt anything as well. the antifreeze already has the properties to extend the life of the parts. there are also products on the market that help as well. Water pump lube being one of them. The thing that we always looked at when I spent 7 years in the cooling system industry was the ph balance.........
