Oh, yes. The ONLY children's programming I remember from my youth. The young people today don't know how fortunate they all are to have a wide array of TV shows geared towards them.
What gentle men they were......they both made me feel special.
Oh...and a footnote for the answerer who mentions Captain Kangaroo as a war hero. This is an Urban Legend, and it has been de-bunked. See this link:

I remember Captain Kangaroo. I only got to watch it at my Grandma's house because we didn't get whatever channel it was on. Good memories.
