usually religion, church and the bible, parents, education, teachers and mentors, etc. in life give us that information, perhaps you weren't listening or listening close enough, or maybe you know the answer but don't know that you really do know it. You will find your potential when you assess yourself, your values, what you can and can't do, and how well you can do at it. Your purpose in life is something else, actually I see it as procreation, the way your body is made will give you that answer. The church will tell you that the two greatest commandments are to love God with your whole body, mind and soul and your neighbor as yourself, so that's an extended purpose. If you are asking about what career you should choose then that's dependent on your skills, your attitude, your interests...find out what those are and go into a related field of study for income purposes.

It's really hard to figure out what you want to do with your life. The thing is, that it's going to be a moving target and you'll be modifying things from your original vision but it will all be part of your unique trajectory. Start by working on remembering what made you happiest as a kid - not Disneyland or anything like that, but things that could be translated into work-based skills. I used to like to play school with my sister - I was the teacher and my sister was forced to do terrible arithmatic. I'm a professor and she's a banker now. You'll have your own story - did you like to play that people were sick? You get the picture.
Then figure out what job you'd like to have and what steps are necessary to get there. This part can take quite a while, it took me several months. Then come up with the first few steps so you have an idea of where to go and focus on achieving one or two things. For me, this was applying to university and it was a pain in the butt, but baby-steps are the only way anything ever gets done. From that point, you'll have your next couple of goals laid out and you'll be checking things off and adding things onto the list. Keep your focus on your ultimate goal and keep envisioning yourself in that position. It will happen.

Give yourself a break. Most 22-year-old people don't have much purpose other than bars and fun. That's very normal. And really, you shouldn't be worrying all about your future at such a young age. Have fun, and enjoy it while you can.

Life happens. It gives us purpose, it means a lot and it comes at us faster than we've ever wanted it to happen. One day we wake up with all of our worries and our judgments and our predictions and even our fears. It will happen to you just as it has all of us. So keep it at bay for a while if you can.

What makes me smile is that you're on the brink of something extraordinarily fabulous in your life. You've put into the universe how you want to be "shown" how your life is significant. You're about to learn how.

The journey is so worth it. You're about it find out why....

You may already have found your purpose. You might have impacted on someone's life just by being here. There is no neon sign pointing out what you must do. Live. Help. Care.
Often, your purpose finds you. You get a lot of chances, with every choice you make. Have a good life. C. :)!!

Statistically speaking you are between 1/4 to 1/3 done with this life. Enjoy it. Make that your purpose, to get the most out of this life. Appreciate what you do have and work for the things that you want.

This is something that you have to figure out within yourself chicky. My purpose changes daily. My potential is unlimited.

We as humans are spinning out of control on a small rock 3 stones away from the sun. We realize that we do not know who we are or where we are going in this ocean of chaos.

Think for yourself, question authority.

That's a very interesting question. I don't think you necessarily know right away. It is part of the age old question "why are we here?" As someone who is a bit older, I think that if you try to find fulfillment in your life, either by finding a career that you love, or having children and being a great parent, or doing volunteer work that you enjoy doing. In doing things that make you reach outside of yourself and focus your attention on others, you find purpose in life becuase you feel that you make a difference.

What my father told me is this: You need to get involved in an organization which has a cause that you believe in. Or, start volunteering for something that you feel is a good fit for you. You will then be around people who have a purpose in their own life and start to figure out what your purpose is. For me, I started working with birthmothers and adoption agencies. I soon started realizing that it is my purpose to help out these other people. I now set out to make people in tough situations feel better and make better decisions.

Although, some people never find their purpose because they don't want to. Some wander around wondering why they are here their entore life until it is too late. You have to figure it out for yourself, what you like and enjoy.

I think that you are going through a time in your life that comes when you are trying to figure yourself out. We all go through this when we are maturing. You are fine and I am sure that you will find something that you enjoy doing!

If you mean by purpose questions such as "why was I put on this earth" and "what is it that I'm meant to do here", you can easily see that they are meaningless unless there is a Creator to put you here with a mission.

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (atheist, philosopher, mathematician and Nobel Laureate)

We can't create our own purpose unless we created ourselves.

We can, however, busy ourselves with things and activities to keep from thinking about the pointlessness of lif.

But real purpose can only come from God. I figure it's better to seek God and hopefully find Him rather than to pretend.

Try to find love and have kids. Or search for an occupation you like. Volunteer with sick kids or old people or do some fund-raising for some cause.
Read and find out about things. There's so much you can fit in life if you have the patience and want to work hard.
