According to my Heating/Cooling guy, I need to have a circuit board replaced for my furnace. In the meantime, he's wired the blower/fan so that it runs continuously. The external A/C unit/compressor works fine, but I'm concerned that running the blower will be bad for the long-term health of the unit.

Letting the fan motor run continuously for a few days or even for a much longer time should not cause any significant long-term damage or reduced life expectancy of the unit. Many people let the fan run continuously to provide extra air filtration. Some people think this might even increase the motor life by avoiding the startup surge current.

You may see an increase in the electricity use during this period of time/ Also that the air feels more stuffy/humid and the outside compressor unit may cycle more often. This might happen if there are leaks in the return air ductwork in which case unconditioned air can be sucked in and then blown into the living areas of your house. If the return ducts run in your basement/cellar then it can draw in humid air and circulate that into your house. If the return ducts run in the attic then the air being sucked in will be warmer than the conditioned air so you may notice the outside compressor unit cycling more frequently too.

Depending if you have a heat pump with the air. the blower running just circulates air all the time, it cost very little in electrical use. it will not harm anything at all, you should feel a small amout of air coming out of all the vents, if not something is wrong

It won't hurt it a bit. A blower motor is a continuous duty rated motor. So other than the slight increase in your electric bill there is no problem at all.

It's a short term fix. It should be OK if they get out there and fix it within a week.
