It is not necessarily work-related, any undue stress which cannot be handled by the body-mind complex will undermine performance, health etc. Physical and mental health is adversely affected due to excessive stress. Too little or too much work, lack of recognition, frustration about the difference between expectations and achievements, all these can cause stress. Poor relationships in the workplace or at home can also cause stress.

I have a stressful boring job at the moment and unfortunately have to admit it makes me under-perform.
1. I am less motivated to get in to work on time, or stay late like I used to do in an interesting job.
2. Stress makes people ill (headaches, depression etc) and they then take more sick days.
3. If I am stressed I am easily distracted and talk more to colleagues or send social emails, when I should be working.
Also the reasons for the stress contribute to under-performance;
A lack of a support or advice network - I have no-one to ask a question, so I continue to work slowly or with mistakes.
A general atmosphere of demotivating in an office with other stressed colleagues.
The resulting slow performance can result in increasingly pressurised deadlines and conflicts with colleagues or seniors...i.e, more stress!

Stress also causes a loss of confidence which rears it's head in all sorts of ways, not only at work but in your home life, bad temper loss of sleep. The final crunch came for me when I was doing the most simple task of my job. Suddenly I could not do it. I had been warned a few days before that I had a health problem after I broke down in tears in a friends office as I asked for a copy of a document which had not got to me. It was 3 months before I could face work again and my enthusiasm had gone and much as I tried I good not get it back again except for an odd flash. I took early retirement because I felt the job was going to break my health completely.
Do not confuse stress with pressure. Pressure can be good fum in any job with a feeling of satisfaction when something is completed

I can only answer from my own experience. When I'm very stressed out from my work, I move slower, my mind works slower, and I feel physically sick! I work MUCH slower! I think it is also Anxiety...caused by the stress. I think a calm atmosphere can go a very long way in getting a lot more work done. I think people who feel relaxed with their work not only work better, but WANT to do a better job because they are happy.

Well, when stress gets to you it can affect a lot of things. But mentally, when you try to perform and please your woman, you're just not mentally there.
You'll be banging and then you lose your woody. Or you might not get a woody at all.
If you're dealing with stress you should communicate with your partner.
I suggest taking a break and just having some oral sex for a while.

when you are in a stress you are eaither feeling anxious or depressed if anxious you wont concentrate on your work so you may miss instructions or not work well. If you feel depressed it is because you feel hopeless about what is going on and so wont try. we all need a certain amount of stress to work well. to little and we get bored too much and we cant cope with all the information given to us. It may be too much or very contrary.
