Why would they? It wasn't England that gained independence on July 4th.

July 4th, yes. Independence day, no. That's an old joke. They do have a day in Nova Scotia that honors those who immigrated there during the Revolution and remained loyal to the king. We happened to be there one year on that day and attended a big event not knowing the deal. We were a little perplexed to say the least when they asked everyone to stand to honor those loyalists! In the interest of avoiding bodily harm, we stood up with our heads down thinking very patriotic thoughts!!! pass the peace

Since they use pretty much the same calendar, I'm sure they have the 4th of July on it. It comes right after the 3rd of July and before the 5th of July.
Now as to them celebrating it, only in the extremely perverse "Let's drink a toast to the Yanks that wanted to be free of the English King George, then elected one of their own!"

Of course they do. The calendar goes around in England just as it does the rest of the world. They just don't celebrate getting rid of the colonies. It is a forgotten thing mostly. Who cares? They know they had colonies .
Actually It was English people living in America. Would have been a civil war had it been fought in their own land. Think about it.

Can you answer this for yourself? Now, why do we celebrate the 4th of July? Because fireworks are pretty? Because hotdogs go on sale that day?

No we don't celebrate, it's just a normal day for us, historically its obvious that there isn't much for us to celebrate, wish we did as I love a party and any excuse for a day off work!...Do you celebrate Bonfire night? (Nov 5)
