I have used windows.com; followed all directions for all suggestions and the printer still does not communicate with the computer. It is set as default.

There are no Vista drivers for the 3100, which means you won't be able to use it with Vista.

u probably need to go out and buy a new printer. vista is really stupid and u need new things for them to work . So contact lexmark and and see if they can help if not have fun buying a new printer. (go HP)

Make sure you are using the VISTA drivers (get them from www.lexmark.com) and install them, not with anything windows finds automatically.

Also remove the USB connection to PC, and delete old drivers first, then ONLY connect USB cable when the driver installer asks you to.

ok use lexmark web sitetocheck printer drivers for VISTA.

reinstall printer driver and install it back
