When I turn on my computer I get a message across the monitor say that the computer is not communicating with the monitor. I can hear the computer booting up, the hard drive spinning and all of that. The busy light on the computer is also on and working.
Any thoughts on what is wrong?

carefully examine your power cord and data cord that connect to the monitor for cuts, kinks, etc.(like is it firmly connected) However regardless of what you find, I'm sure it's a cord issue and not an issue with your monitor... and very much most likely not your computer.
The cheapest test fix (if the cords where in fact connected properly) would be to buy new cords for the the monitor. If that does not work then let me know.

oh and btw does the computer make one (and that is one and only one) beep when you turn it on. Thats called the "post". if the computer "posts" it's not the computer that is bad.

if everything is connected, the faulty part may be the wire or your video card/adapter
