ok i think i need a microphone to do the sound recorder but i dont....and on my old desktop it worked fine without anything.....

is there an alternate way to record sound with like anything else???

Without a microphone you will NEVER record anything, the only alternative is if you can set it to record an "intrnal" sound channel, but that's not recording, that's capturing.

You NEED a mic to record . . . end of story

Select Sterio Mix and turn it up to the second bar.

step 7Record
Open Up an audio recorder of choise there is a free one here http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ hit record start the music and record. BE SURE NOT TO RECORD ANYTHING THAT IS COPYWRITED THAT WOULD BE PIRACY ; )

Use a sound record software and use the stereo mix setting in the recording option of volume control.

Your old computer might have had a mic in the screen or something. But with your new computer you will have to go and buy a mic. They are farely cheap running around $10

it depends...
if you're trying to record your voice or any sound outside your computer then you definitely need a mic.

if you're trying to record a sound from your computer, download a program that will let you. just google it and you'll find a lot.

if you need a voice recording you need a mic. just music you can do it w/out a mic
