I was reading my husbands cigarette packet the other day. It had written on the side of the pack that it contained 4o different chemicals. I assumed the smokers are addicted to the 40 chemicals. So I thought to myself, what if they made cigarettes that gradually dropped 1 or 2 chemicals per pack they smoked. Start a whole pack at 40 chem, next pack 38chem and so on. Eventusally you have dropped the addiction to theese chemicals slowly and whithout even knowing it. At the end people could go cold turkey and suceed if they truly want to quit. Please tell me if my idea sux or not.

Your right! you could not take this idea to a Cigerette Company, as if they had any morals they would No1 take the nicotine out of cigerette's which they once denied the could do. Your idea is good, put with a habbit breaking program would be a winner!!

If you were to drop it by a chemical or two each pack - you would still suffer from the more serious withdrawal symptoms of going cold turkey. This is because you would be going cold turkey from each chemical dropped. Perhaps the solution would be to drop the level of all 40 chemicals a little bit at a time until all 40 chemicals are gone. You are on to something ~ keep working on it. Good luck.

You're really thinkin' there, but it's probably a little too complicated to work out. Besides, it's not just the chemicals that are added, but the tobacco it's self that is addictive. And people smoke for a whole lot of psycho-social reasons. If you get to the core issue and resolve that, well, most people aren't that willing to do the introspection necessary. I quit years ago cold turkey because I figured out that I was handing over control of my life to a thin piece of paper and some dried weed. And I'm way too much of a control freak for that!! pass the peace

I think that it is more of a mental habit. Yes, you are addicted to the chemicals, but to truly quit you have to replace the smoking habit with some other habit. I wish smoking was easy to quit for all people. Have a good day and take care.

I have never smoked a cigarette in my life...I have to say, smokers are very weak people and would rather light up, then to care about their bodies...

I don't think your plan would work, but good luck trying!

It's a good idea however, the cigarette companies would never allow it....they want people to be addicted so that we keep buying cigarettes....HELLO!

It's a good idea but without all the chemicals they would taste totally different.

Good ideal ,but the manufactures wouldn't do that.It would put them out of business and the states wouldn't get the taxes.Have a good day.

I don't think so. Sounds really expensive. Best way is to do what I did....quit cold. A heart attack with a couple of stents tends to get your attention.

You'd have to convince the cigarette makers, not us.
AND, it's like asking them to put themselves out of business, and I don't think they'd go for it.
