Question:
why is the earth round is feels flat to me?

Answer:
Excellent question. Until you actually go around the
world, or think of an experiment to test it, you
really have to rely on what other people have discovered.
But for a long time, many people thought the same thing,
so it's a very reasonable question to ask.
The next time one of the space shuttles goes up,
pay attention to the news and watch for pictures of
the Earth that they take from space. You will clearly see
that the surface of the Earth is curved.
Now, the question is "Why can't I see that?"
Picture if you will an ant who is on a ball the size of
a house. As far as the ant can tell, the surface on which
he's standing is flat because he is really small compared to
the size of the ball. That's why the Earth seems flat to you...
but it's not.

The Earth is round, because if you were to hop in a rocket and fly 200 miles straight up, you could see the curvature of the Earth. Also, your sight is limited. You cannot see past a certain point, as the features of the Earth beyond that point are curved away from your view. If the Earth were flat, you could see much further than that (not quite to the edges because atmospheric impurities eventually obscure vision, but still much farther than the present curvature allows.)
Also, if you got in a plane and flew in any direction with no variations in your course, you would eventually arrive back where you started. This is not possible on a flat Earth, but possible on our roughly sphere-shaped planet.

Will facts really satisfy you? If yes, the answer is earth is round (geoid shape), slightly flattened at the poles and bulging out at the equator but for all practical purposes, it is round. It appears flat because of the large radius of curvature.

Look at the photos of earth taken from space and you have your facts. Unless you belong to the Flat Earth Club or something like that.

The Earth's shape is very close to an oblate spheroid—a rounded shape with a bulge around the equator—although the precise shape (the geoid) varies from this by up to 100 meters (327 ft).[21] The average diameter of the reference spheroid is about 12,742 km (7,913 mi)

It was proven by ancient Greek scientists that the world was round by observing the variances of shadows and other natural phenomena from place to place.
Not to mention that pictures taken from the space shuttle missions and lunar landings definitely show that the Earth is round.

Are you seriously asking that question... It is round, it has a dimeter of 7926 miles, and last time i looked at all of the photos taken from space it didn't look like a flat square to me... and it spins on its axis, it takes 23.93 hours to be exact... and it has a grivitaional field... in which our round (really more egg shaped) moon orbits...
