If it was just today, you might be able to. If it was last week, probably not. Call the manager and ask.

If you haven't signed anything, then you should be able to. If the person you signed the lease with is legit, then they didn't cash the money order yet and can just hand it back to you, in which you'd just deposit it at your bank like a check.

As soon as you sign something, you are bound. Since you haven't signed anything yet, you should be in the clear.

If you gave the security deposit, it generally means that you move in on that day. If they allowed you to move in on that day then most likely you will owe the amount of days that you were supposed to have been in the department. There may be a 3 day leniency especially if you didn't sign anything. Act fast as this could turn into a court matter.

I think a quick phone call to the manager is in order here. The quicker you do it, the more chance there is you'll get your money back. Tell him/her you've had a change of circumstances and the property is not suitable for you.

if you have not signed the lease then you are not legally bound to the contract you can ask for your deposit back.
