Or even without God in the equation, do you think it's natural selection, that we are not all born smart, beautiful and easily directed toward success. Or is there some other cosmic hand guiding us along a path of destiny? Or no destiny... all coincidence?

The life-force evolves. Don't you know people who HAD to have been a cactus in their last incarnation? It is we who evolve purpose and destiny over many lifetimes. Humans exist on many different levels. God/Reality simply mirrors consciousness - both individually and en masse.

It is not a matter of people not having been 'created' equal, just a matter of how long we've been in human form with a brain capacity for reflecting (on being/reality) and transcending old patterns. Lower life forms cannot change their perceptions and identity through self-observation for lack of either a neo-cortex equivilent or physical limitations. A dolphin cannot 'write' philosophy nor read and comment on others ideas because of their physical limitations but that doesn't mean they lack a destiny or purpose just because we cannot grasp it.

I do believe that there is a cosmic hand guiding us along a path of destiny with a "formula".Along this era, human are trying their best to discover this formula and thus came out with theories of science(gene, evolution), religion philosophies(God and reincarnation), metaphysic(destiny code) in describing life.
I believe there is a force control the natural selection thus there is no coincidence.By the way, i don't think God create some lives for the sake of diversity is meaningless.Diversity deversify our identity and make recognize of our unique characteristic and every characteristic has its own contribution to the world. If you believe there is God and everything are His creation, congratulation you found the invisible of support and strength, faith is your detisny. If you believe in coincidence(no power hand in control), means you are in curious to know "how" the world is happen, you want to know the fact of process. However, there is no wrong and right answer, curiosity gains insight .I just hope you will be blessed by your perception of what is destiny, your destiny in your decision and belief.

I believe this is a fantastic question, answer to which can only be a matter of logical conjecture..... but perhaps scientific examination in this area may enable us improve our overall quality for higher achievements rather than trying to take less potent help of external tools and gadgets.

To me it appears that the Universe is making sure, one way or another, that no two can be absolutely identical... even any two leaves of the same branch from the same tree are not totally identical.... it seems to be following an unwritten principle of continuous creation of variations which could well be an offshoot of the constancy of change principle. This could be at work in the inherent differences between the capabilities etc. of any two individuals... we know how DNA set keeps going through minor variations with every next born or even between twins. The inherent differences between individuals often lead to widening with age and experience just as a small error in the direction of a vehicle could end up it reaching a completely different destination in course of a long journey.

The concept of meaningless life is, in my opinion, ridiculous. Even infants who live for a few days, have some sort of impact in this world. Even people who don't amount to much in life, still have an affect on others.

It's the Butterfly Effect.

Also, what kind of God would create "meaningless" life just for diversity? Not the kind of God, I'd be interested in.

A higher power may have created life, and Providence does have a roll, but all said and done, its up to the individual as to what ultimate purpose that life serves.
Some are perfectly content in their "worker ant" role and seek nothing more; others seem to have a sense early on that they want more out of life. They are the ones who recognize the chances when destiny offers and take the chances others wouldn't.

I had very handicapped children placed in my classroom for 15-30 minutes a day. These children would be what some people would call meaningless lives. But they taught my students compassion and kindness in a way no teacher ever could. There was nothing meaningless about their lives. They were there to trigger goodness in others. In that, they were experts.

Some will say, that if you believe in the good power that is God, you have to believe in the evil power that is Satan. Satan will do whatever he can to persuade people to carry out his doings. So, with that thinking, we are all born into this world equal so to speak. From there it is up to the individual's freedom of choice as to the path he/she takes.

Personally, I am still trying to figure it all out. People tell me I have to have faith in God. I am more of a realist, and I find it hard to have that much faith. I sometimes think of that as blind faith, but others say it is Satan trying to get into my head to get me not to believe. I am one of those people who is on the fence. I am not sure if there is a God, or Satan, or not.

I have a strong belief system, but it is based on my own experiences, and feelings. I think we should all be allowed to think the way we want. Not to be bullied, or scared into thinking one way, or the other. Religon is a very touchy subject with a lot of people, and gets people into a lot of arguments. I ask why? Why can't we be free to worship the way WE need to, and not the way YOU want me to? There are so many religons in the world, and according to some, they are all wrong except for the one that particular person believes in. I am thinking that they ALL can't be wrong. There has to be a co-existance of some sort here, doesn't there?

ANYWAYS, good question.

Thanks for reading my response.

Stevo.

We create our own meaningless lives.

The way to bring meaning back is to ... look at Chs. 21-22 of the online resource, Gospel Enigma. It is a bit abstract, but not so hard to understand. I think that will help.

All the creations of God had a meaning in there own way. God did not create something for nothing. Each creation is unique in its own sense. It is only humans who give no meaning to his creation. All the creatures he made are diversified. They are by nature different from among each other.
