Real IQ tests are given by professionals and have a number of different tasks on them, such as those involving verbal skills, short term memory, puzzles and how fast one processes information. The only way to measure your IQ is to have one administered by a psychologist.
Just to let you know, an IQ is not a "perfect" measure of intelligence. Intelligence is a theory... there is no single standard definition of intelligence. In addition, there are many different kinds of intelligence - although most people agree that it has to do with problem-solving ability - not just technical talent or how much someone "knows." Just as an example... LeBron James may be one of the most talented basketball players in the NBA... but that is NOT the same as Steve Nash's "high basketball IQ," or ability to "see" the court and make effective basketball decisions.
Also... online IQ tests, even the ones given by Mensa... are not real, they are invalid. That's why they can't be admitted into court. Mr. Taco is right in that most sites will inflate your score so you won't feel stupid and will buy their more detailed "analysis." In addition, real tests need to be administered in a "standardized" way... that's why you can't take an SAT test on a computer, by yourself, in the comfort of your own home. You have to sit in a room with everyone else and listen to the same directions, with the same amount of time that everyone else has, etc.
Just some things to think about. If you are really interested in learning more about your IQ, contact a local psychologist and ask them about having your IQ tested.

IQ tests are not an accurate assessment of intelligence. Firstly I don't wont to sound rude but by asking this question you obviously doubt your own intelligence. If you are good at word puzzles such as crosswords or maths puzzles you have some talent at art or music then you will probably be above average intelligence. Remember having a high IQ does not guarantee that you will be successful so don't place to much importance on this question and accept the fact that we are all created equal and how we apply ourselves and conduct ourselves is a better measure of what type of person we are than our IQ.

FYI, most people feel they are quite bright. No, knowledge and IQ are not synonymous. The only way to find out is to take a test. Of course if you write a symphony at 3 it can be deduced you have very high IQ.

1. First let me say that I have met people who have taken the IQ test and have scored quite high but they were not that intelligent or clever!
2. So the formal IQ test is not that accurate in determining the intelligent and clever person of high IQ.
3. I assume if you have the ability to understand or deal with ideas and information most of the time, you should be considered a person with reasonably high IQ.
4. If you have the skill to think and to understand most plans, suggestions and possible courses of action in a given situation, you could consider yourself a person of reasonably high IQ.
5. If you have the art of studying and reasoning about complicated ideas, opinions and beliefs, you could take it that you have quite high IQ.
6. If you can learn most things, details, expressions, and activities quickly and well, you are a person of reasonably high IQ!!! Cheers!

IQ is not necessarily about general knowledge. It is about intelligence. Even a dumb person can potentially memorize facts, but can they actually figure things out for themselves? That is the key. Without taking a test, all you can do is measure yourself compared to those around you, but even then you'll never know for sure without the test, because IQ factors in so many different areas: math, science, reading, problem solving, etc., etc. If you think you are more intelligent than the average person, then perhaps you do have a high IQ. You can accept that if it makes you feel better about yourself, but ultimately it is relative, and not accurate.
All that said, there is one other thing to think about. IQ tests are often criticized because they do not factor in the fact that some people simply do not test well. An IQ test is the BEST way to find out if you have a high IQ, but even then there are factors that can effect the accuracy of the test, including learning disabilities or short attention spans that do not necessarily reflect on your intelligence. Also, all IQ tests are not created equal. For example, most of the tests on the quiz websites tend to be easier than a professional IQ test, because the quiz websites want you to feel smarter than you are. No one wants to hang around a website that tells them they are dumb. There are a lot of people online who think they are geniuses because of these websites, and they aren't even close!
If you really, really want to know, though, you'll need to take a professional IQ test to have the most accurate possible idea of what your IQ really is. If that is what you want, then there you go. Otherwise, feel free to think you have a high IQ if you want to. In the overall scheme of things, there is really no reason to bother finding out for sure. If you're smart, then you're smart. If not, then you may as well think you are smart anyway. :-)

You might have high IQ, but Im not sure that general knowledge test is what you would be looking for. They test very specific things, and I think you might not come out with an accurate result.

Looks a case of higher than average IQ but why aren't you ready to take a test? It's available on line and no body needs to know about it.

Your IQ is determined not just by what you know, but how fast you can process things. Are you bored around people you don't know? Are you good at different kinds of puzzles? Can you find your way around without a map? These are not all-inclusive, but these are the kinds of questions that, when added together, can determine better if you are objectively intelligent.

general knowledge is not what sets IQ level, IQ is a level of mental comprehension and thought process. just cause you can name the 50 states and their capitals doesn't make you a genius.
