Does anybody here NOT like metal or emo?

its so frustrating!! everything is either about my chemical romance or effing 80s metal music.

No I don't like fall out boy hence the "does anybody here not like emo"

I like some metal, not the hair variety. However I hate about 99% of what constitutes emo, especially the gay acronym bands. Since Fugazi gets credit for being one of the first emo band, I guess I like that 1%.

OK, I understand where you are coming from but let me point our a few reasons everything on the Rock and Pop board are emo and metal.

1. Most people who get on here are from the ages of 13 to 21, therefore you have the younger crowd asking and answering music questions, and the younger crowd listens to emo and metal.
2. Nobody really listens to anything else that would be considered rock or pop. Nobody listens to Tonic or Third Eye Blind and nobody listens to Britney Spears or Aaron Carter.
3. Most people who ask and answer these questions for the most part, only listen to bands that are either played on MTV or bands that are playing on the Warped Tour and Ozzfest. If I asked anybody who Violent Work Of Art or Godhead was, do you think anybody would know? Nope. But everybody knows who Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance are. Simply put, most of these people are scene kids.

i've never been into metal and emo **** sucks. I don't know what emo is. Theres music called scremo, like Thursday, the Used and Story of the Year. Only thing I'd call emo for sure is Dashboard confessional. My chemical romance is pop punk i suppose. Fall out Boy is the classic example of pop punk, but of pop punk from now that all sounds the same. You want good pop punk? old Green Day and one of the inventors of the pop punk movement in the early 80s, The Undertones. They're an irish pop punk band and are relatively unknown and underappreciated by most ppl. I listen to hard punk, classic punk like the Clash, also ska, and jam bands like the Grateful Dead and whatever you want to classify the Doors, because i love the Doors. After years of listening to punk rock, you begin to realize, "hey, this is good and all, but musically, they're not that good." So me and someother friends, all started to move towards bands like phish, allman brothers and the grateful dead.

Well, I'm not the biggest metal fan, and most of that emo crap is crap, like MCR and FOB and stuff. I like real music, like Incubus and Chevelle, and some alternative, but not EMO, and 80's metal? No.

I like 90's Metal like Pantera, Deftones, etc.... I love Black Metal and Melodic Death Metal, too... What do you like?

first off fall out boy is not emo....although they do suck.

secondly i hate emo.

and thirdly i like metal....just not 80's metal...i like metalcore.

its so annoying how everyone thinks there so hardcore because they listin to My Chemical Romance

Face it, your not hardcore, your not emo, and i dont get why there such a big deal.

sure i used to like them a lot, but i got over myself.
Yeah i stil listin to thier music sometimes, but only because there catchy. there is no reason to be obsessed they arent even good musicans.


I also hate how everyone thinks that music sucks now. Sorry to break it to people but there have been good bands since 80's hair metal. You just have to look. Your not gonna find it on the radio but that doesnt mean its not there. People need to stop lliving in the past. Sure the music is good but you dont have to insult everyone who doesnt listin to it and tell them they have a crappy taste in music.


BTW people My Chemical Romance isnt even emo
who even knows wtf emo is anyway.
