For the past few months my engine has been running louder when the air conditioning is on. Yesterday I started the car and turned ont he air, and the rumbling was louder than usual. When I put the car in reverse, it started to jerk and the engine light came on. I parked the car, turned off the ignition, and started it back up without the air on. The car ran fine for 2-3 miles going above 40 MPH, but the engine light stayed on. Any ideas on what could have happened?
