Hi! I have had several patients with stiff necks or pulled muscles in their neck. The most common is trying to do something at an angle you have not done before or lifting something heavy.
Apply ice packs today to help reduce swelling and cool down pain. Tomorrow you can use moist heats pads or commerical applications that stick to the area and are warm for 6-8 hours. Take an OTC pain medication that you have taken before. Try sleeping with an extra pillow or no pillow at all. See which one is better. This will take time and in 1-2 days you should be fine. M

Yes it is possible! It should take 2-3 days for the pain to ease off but it will not go away completely for a while. Try rubbling 'Deep Heat' cream which isn't too expensive and you can get it from the local pharmacy. Also try lying on the couch with a hot water bottle under your neck ( with the cover on! )

Anything is possible! But yes, it is very possible that it is a pulled or strained muscle. Nothing much to worry about. Healing takes time, its not being to be fixed tomorrow. Make sure you keep stretching it. You dont want it to heal tighter than it was originally. Also, watch out about banging your head to get water out of your ears. You could seriously injure yourself. Whiplash could occur, plus accidently hitting your head on the wall or the towel rack could be bad!

Yes, it a VERY possible. I was on a trampoline not long a go and I closed my eyes and got bounced up and landed on my neck. I got scared because it couldn;t move it without harsh pain. I got X-rayed and it was fine. the next couple days it returned to normal, however, I feel like I need to pop my neck all the time and sometimes still hurts.

Yes it does, but you should just wait a while. It'll calm down! If it doesn't then you should tell your mom what's going on, and how long it's been happening, and that you need to go to a doctor who can fix this.
