Head over to http://www.nokia.com/batteryreplacement/en/ and scroll to the bottom. There, you can enter your battery number and it will tell you if the battery needs to be replaced.

This is the English (USA) version of the website. If you need another language or location, head over to http://www.nokia.com/ and select the correct continent. Then click on "More information concerning battery (BL-5C) replacement" on the top right.
