In an arranged marriage, is it a legal requirement in India to tell your potential spouse about all your past relationships before marriage? If so, is there not a conflict of interest for the potential groom/bride?

Its not a legal requirement but a moral duty of both the parties to tell about their past to the potential spouse without hiding any details least after the marriage it should not be a issue of matrimonial dispute. Although not informing the facts of the past affairs or sexual relationship & even pregnancy amounting to fraud has not been held by many High courts in India as a valid ground of getting marriage annulled by a decree of nullity. The usual legal requirements for any marriage in India are the age of both the parties (18years for girl & 21 years for boy), unmarried status of both, fit & sound mental condition of both and not related to each both within the degree of prohibition relationship.

it is as non mandatory in legal terms as to tell ur spouse about ur masturbation habbits...legally speaking it is whatever transpires after the marriage that is counted not before.....so as long as u remain loyal to ur spouse, it doesn't matter..yes but if u are not and then u get caught, these things are taken up as backing for the plea that there has been a history of this..so if u r not planning for a ema, it doesn't matter at all.....anywayz this cannot be taken as the plea itself but just as a backing..so chillax....

How in the heck would people in the USA know the answer to this question?

I think if you want to get your marriage off to a good start then you need to be upfront and talk about your past.

Her applicable wager is to touch somebody from the Indian Consulate or Embassy in New Zealand, the place she is at present residing. this is the sole way she will verify she's getting precise tips. Understandably(?) his part could no longer supply her with the 'entire fact and not something however the fact'. the folk on the embassy might desire to be waiting to respond to her question. Barring that, she desires to touch a criminal professional with a forte in worldwide regulation.
