Basically I want to use a new 160GB Hard Drive instead of my 80GB one which I have now.

I was wondering whether is is possible to transfer all system operations on to the new Hard Drive.

So basically I want to start up my computer and it be like I start it up usually, but I'm using the 160GB.

If it is possible can anyone tell me how to do it?

Thanks

Ok so people are telling me about 'mirroring' my Hard Drive (thanks for your advice)

Is it possible to get some free software to do it?

Funds are running low and I don't really want to fork out more money

dear friend
you can do that by these steps
start----->programs------> accessories-----> system tools----->
file and system file transfer wizard------->Next(welcome screen)----->old computer(your 40GB)------> put the place where you want your data moved to (temporally) try to have extra H.D or can put the 160GB hard disk and transfer the data to save data temporally
then shutdown your PC replace H.D I
install windows and repeat the privies steps but choose new computer and all your data and setting will be moved to the new H.D(160 GB)

if you will use ghost partion then you should make an exact size of the partion so the ghost can transfare data to

Copying one hard drive to another is called 'mirroring' it. The software is called Ghost - made by Symantec. You install Ghost, and mirror the hard drive - it takes fifteen to thirty minutes to copy.
