It is only dead to the people who don't display it. I'm only 22 and ever since i was a kid, i have moved to let other people who need the seat more sit down, held open a door for what seemed like a life time just to let other people in or out and have perfect manners. I believe that it's how you are bought up and the peer group you hang with the causes how you behave to others,

You are so right.
I moan about the youth of today like everyone else and I have five of the most well behaved grandchildren who always display manners.
Sorry, I will in future think twice.

Nope. It's just been toned down some because of the attitude of the people. I still open doors for the damsels, especially a car door. Young women freak, probably because it doesn't happen to them often.

Chivalry will always be around as long as one person is chivalrous. As long as one person has manners, or acts right , then the age of Chivalry will last forever.

Just yesterday I had a young man open a door for me (I am in a wheel chair) when I was going into a restaurant to eat. I did not know this young man and he didn't work there, I have a lot of doors opened for me. There are a lot of good kids out there.

Its so dead! People are so concerned about themselves that you have to ask, whereas before if you were in a bit of a bother people would rush to help.

It's not dead, people r just rude. Most kids rn't respectful, and we r way different from what our elders were expected to act like when they were kids.

Unfortunately our society is plague by lack of manners and education!.. so the way I see it, the minorities are the educated and courteous ones.
