Simple minded US wanted to change to SOCCER World Cup because the simpletons in the US would be confused....and they run sports in the US!!! So where's your argument Top ContripOver

I guess it's confusing to simple-minded Europeans, but most of us in North America are able to comprehend the meaning.

As for the comparison, rugby is a nice sport for someone who likes a little bit of contact. American football, on the other hand, is one of brutal violence. I played both growing up here in Canada, and I can tell you that anyone who thinks rugby is a tougher sport is insane. Sure, you get some bumps and bruises, but not fractures and concussions as in football.

Yeah...and Rugby should be renamed NAF: Non-American Football.

I played football and rugby. Football is far more demanding and physical. You're kidding yourself if you believe otherwise.

Oh, and it was the English who came up with the name Soccer, as in aSOCCiation football. So don't blame us for the misnomer.
