*THIS QUESTION IS FOR PEOPLE IN THE USA* Does this and other recent studies which show domestic cars and trucks being equal to or outperforming imports change your mind about domestic brands? Or do you still believe in the old perception that imports are better?

I've bought American my whole adult life (except for one Nissan Altima for my wife that was kind of a piece of crap). Never had a lemon, always had excellent vehicles. No reason to change now.

All modern cars are much better than anything you could buy 20 years ago. Technology, efficiency and safety innovations make them all a good value when you correct for inflation and the value they provide using modern production line techniques. Sure, Toyota is probably one of the best car manufacturers in the world, but you may not want to pay double the price for a Lexus over a Buick. Why not compare a high end Camry to a Buick instead? That's the more logical comparison because you should compare two cars that cost about the same.

Well, I happen to drive a Lexus and I'd never take a Buick over a Lexus no matter what the study said. I've always driven foreign cars (Toyota) and find that they are far superior to domestic cars any day.

About a month ago, there was another study/poll that showed that Ford beat out Toyota on initial vehicle quality. I drive a 1989 Ranger, and I've never had a problem with it, and she's still driving strong. I work in a garage, and amazingly, I see less Fords then I do Toyota.

Lexus is way better the Buick. That study does nothing for me, I would choose Lexus.
