Ancient Greece was not really a true democracy. Only male citizens could vote. A larger class of slaves supported the needs and wants of a smaller number of citizens. Even Athens. Also there was no one government of Greece. It was broken up into many different city-states, often at war with each other. I hope that this has been a help to you.

Believe it or not, ancient Greece were not originally inundated with deranged religionists nor political-minded dotes, both of whom feed off the weaknesses of others.

Sad that history have been rewritten so many times as to suffice selfish needs of others.
