you know like a lot of films have a hidden meaning behind them, and suddenly make sense when you find out what the creator meant by it. I was just watching James and the Giant Peach with my sister, and I was just windering, is there a hidden meaning???

The story is generally abnormal, e.g. James' parents are eaten by a giant Rhino from the skies, and when the Peach had landed in the Ocean, they were attacked by a mechanical Shark Machine.

The only suggestion i could possibly think of was perhaps the Rhino represented Death or something??? James is screaming at the end "Im not afraid of you!" and it took James' parents all of a sudden.

Or perhaps its a fantasy of his, caused by the abuse and opression from his adopted parents, Aunt Spiker and Aunt Sponge.....

I dunno, what do you think???

was anyone else thinking the same?

He wanted to reach New York City, a wondrous place in his mind, and escape the horrible life at his godparents. This symbolizes him finding freedom and reaching salvation, I think. That means something to me. The whole adventures with the peach and his exoskeletal friends were to entertain the children, because that's who the audience is aimed at.

His goal was to reach New York City , so he could get away from his aunts , so what does this symbolize , Freedom . The hidden meaning behind it is that "you have to go to the greatest lengths no matter what the risk , if you want it so bad and you would do something about it , you can achieve your goal" .
