I wouldn't waste time on ebay they only cost about 10 bucks at your local stores. Your chances of getting a bad one on ebay are just to high to make it worth it.

These are called, ehternet cards, ethernet adapters, network interface cards, or NICs, and should be available at Office Depot, Best Buy, etc for less than 10-20. in most cases.

Heres one at
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6359246&st=ethernet+card&type=product&id=1077624261538 its 19.99
or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127102 for 11.99

Depends on your broadband modem. If it has a USB plug (small, flat looking) then you will need a USB socket on your PC and at least WIndows 98 as your operating system. If your broadband modem has a square socket on it with 8 little flicks of wire inside that is an ethernet port and you will need an ethernet cat 5 cable. You will also need an ethernet port on your PC. If it doesn't have one a 100Mb ethernet card is cheap to buy and easy to install. Don't confuse that port with one slightly smaller that connects to the phone line through an ADSL splitter that separates the voice signal from the broadband signal.

If you don't have a broadband router you'll just have to carry on using dial up until you get one and a broadband contract.

It is not possible to connect broadband to a dial up modem. You need to have a router or broadband modem.

If you have a router then you'll need an ethernet network card in the PC and an ethernet cable to connect them.

If you have a broadband modem then you can connect it to your PC using a USB cable.
