People say residential construction and some say commercial. and some say insurance smoke fire and water damage. and to stay away from working for people from the middle east because they don't pay.

Take the jobs where you can get them.
Usually commercial pays more.
Try not to discriminate either.

There is no fast and easy money in construction. You have to work hard for it. My only suggestion is to set up escrow accounts with your customers, have them put the money into the account before you do the work.
The downfall of most contractors is their inability to collect when the work is done.
