it can be canned and frozen. canned i can't help but frozen is easy. what you need to do is blanch the squash or partially cook it and let it cool in a freezer ziplock bag then freeze it will hold all winter....PS. put a dash of salt in the water you blanch it in.

Not sure on the dehydrating, but if you freeze them in a vacuum bag inside a container of water, the freezer-burn is greatly reduced if not completely avoided. Or you can put them in seasoned water or soup and have the same affect of not going below the freezing point of water.

Yummy! Squash is the best! Par boiling them works great. Be sure to use freezer bags or the sealed vaccum bags.

If you want to freeze it, you can just grate it, if you're wanting to use it for zucchini bread and put it in Zip-Lock Freezer Bags. Make sure you get ALL the air out, so you'll be less likely to get freezer burn.

when i freeze my squash, i cut them in slices then put them in cornmeal with black peeper,coat slices good with mix,freeze each piece separately... put slices on cookie sheet or baking pan,put in freezer an freeze.when the slices are froze,put in freezer bags.when ready to have squash just get out the amount you need. the slices will not stick to each other if you freeze like this...

depending on the squash, the only only that you can store all winter is the banana squash. put it in a cool dark room lay on newspaper and it will be good until april. do not pick it until first frost
