Yes. It is unlikely, but possible. So being on your period is not a reliable method of birth control.

No, it is biologically impossible.

A woman is only fertile for around 30% of her menstrual cycle, this is the day of ovulation (normally between days 12-16 of her cycle) and the days beforehand when there is fertile quality cervical mucus - this is a mucus produced by the cervix to protect the sperm from the acidic environment of the vagina and help it find it's way up through the opening of the cervix and into the fallopian tubes where the egg is waiting. The first day of a woman's period is the first day of a woman's cycle, so in an average cycle it is two weeks either side of ovulation (when the egg is released), in an abnormal cycle this can be different and a woman can be fertile during menstruation is fertile quality cervical mucus is present, but during menstruation ovulation will not occur and certainly if the uterus lining is shedding there would be nothing for a fertilized egg to latch onto.

A woman can only ever get pregnant on one day of her cycle - the day of ovulation - any other time of the month there is no egg there to fertilize for her to get pregnant. A woman can be fertile for many days, say for example if a woman has sex on her period and there is fertile quality cervical mucus present, the sperm can then live in the vagina for up to 5 days, so if she ovulates 5 or less days after menstruation the sperm would still be alive in the vagina to reach the egg and fertilize it, equaling pregnancy.

Menstruation is when the body gets rid of the egg that was not fertalised during the fertile period of the menstrual cycle and when the uterus lining is shed from the body, it's at the other end of the menstrual cycle to ovulation, when pregnancy occurs.

The idea that a girl can get pregnant during her period is mostly myth; the idea that women can get pregnant any time of their cycle is only kept up to scare girls into either using contraception all the time or not to have sex at all.

Without using methods like fertility awareness method, billings ovulation method, natural family planning or similar methods there is no way of knowing when you are fertile and when you are not as such without protection sex can always result in pregnancy, but that by no way means that you can get pregnant any time of your cycle.

As a side note there is nothing at all negative about sex during menstruation, in fact sex during menstruation has lots of benefits, the idea that it is a negative comes from negative outdated ideas about menstruation being dirty or otherwise negative.

Any person who claims sex can induce menstruation is in no way shape or form educated on basic human/sexual anatomy so certainly not a GP!

extremely unlikely. a woman can purely get pregnant for the duration of ovulation, which in many situations happens around 2 weeks until eventually now her era starts. for the duration of menstruation is actual between the "safest" situations to have intercourse, being pregnant-smart. regardless of the undeniable fact that, if a woman has an extremely short cycle (like 21 days), then she could get pregnant from having intercourse for the duration of the previous couple of days of her era considering that she could be ovulating then.

Absolutely not!

since fertilization can take place only when the mature ovum (or the female egg) is released from the ovary to the fallopian tube. And this release can only be triggered once the thing called "endometrial lining" is already thick to prepare for the anticipated implantation of the fertilized egg that will soon grow to be a fetus.

During menstruation, the "endometrial lining" is shed off as well as the unfertilized ovum. So, during menstruation, there is absolutely nothing for sperms to fertilize.

unfortunately yes. some people think periods are a safe form of contraception, but they are not. eggs are still left in the womb, that can be fertilised, and can still live until the lining grows back.

Yes. All that needs to happen is for an egg and sperm to meet. This usually happens in the fallopian tubes, but it is possible for it to happen elsewhere.
