I have a blue enamel bath with heavy limescale, usual cleaning problems only make it worse. Anything abrasive scratches it. Any idea on how to clean it - or a compamy that would clean it (I am UK based)?

I have an enamel bath with heavy limescale, usual cleaning products make it worse, and it scratches with abrasive. Do you have any suggestions as to what I could use or a company that might clean it? I'm based in the UK.

use cider vinigar. it is acid, but not too strong. the limescale react with the acid and go really easily. You will then need to wash the bath to get rid of the vinigar smell

You need some limescale removing solution, specially designed for enamel baths! I use Flash or Ajax

In my opinion, the best limescale product on the market is one made by HARPIC it is in a royal blue coloured plastic bottle with red and white writing on the label. All shops and supermarkets sell it.

Very fine sand paper can do it but you risk scratching the bath and it sounds like yours is easily scratched. I used it on mine and it worked OK. I'd only recommend it if you didn't care too much and were thinking of replacing the bath any way.

something like lime lite or viakel should do it, otherwise u can use citric acid available from small chemists, this is a natural product (used in lemonade) etc, it removes limescale its useful in kettles and baby bottle sterilisers, that should do the trick.

There is a product called The Works for tubs and showers. This product really works. See if you can find it in the UK.
